Integrated Manual Therapy

BUT WHAT IS INTEGRATED MANUAL THERAPY?

For years, I have been offering different modes of bodywork - therapeutic and orthopedic massage, Thai bodywork, cupping, positional release therapy, Craniosacral therapy and Somatoemotional release and more. For a while, I kept them separate, but as my dear yoga teacher Ame Wren would always say “the magic is in the mixing!” When you come in for an integrated manual therapy session, we’ll chat about how you are, how your body is doing, whether we want to really focus on a specific spot/injury, work more holistically, address the nervous system, etc. Your session will be some combination of the modalities below.

Modalities

  • CranioSacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is like a massage for your nervous system. CST locates tension throughout the body and uses gentle manual techniques to release those problem areas and improve form and function of the central nervous system. CST can be profoundly helpful for clients with headaches and migraines, chronic neck and back pain, general stress and tension, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, TMJ, PTSD as well as for general health and wellness. CST sessions are done fully clothed (or can be added onto a regular therapeutic massage) and are generally extremely relaxing.

  • Orthopedic Massage

Orthopedic massage is targeted, site specific work. I work directly on the skin (no cream or lubricant) to work directly with the fascia. Not always pleasant, but often quite effective.

  • Thai Massage

A magical combination of acupressure points, rhythmic compressions, assisted stretching and joint mobilization along traditional energy line to help encourage greater ease of movement, balance and a deep sense of calm and relaxation. Great for increased flexibility, especially in the lower body.

  • ...and more!

I also bring in cupping, trigger point work, positional release, breath work, and more!

  • Danielle has been an absolute game-changer helping me manage chronic pain related to hypermobility. Her approach is thoughtful, skilled, and truly tailored to the complexity of what hypermobility does to my body. Thanks to her work, I’ve experienced relief I truly didn’t think was possible. My monthly visits with her are a non-negotiable part of my schedule. I can’t recommend her highly enough

  • I’ve been a client of Danielle’s for many years. I had been seeing another body works therapist for Thai massage and was unsure if I would be happy with someone new. After the first minutes of my Thai massage with Danielle I knew I’d found my person. After a year I decided to try therapeutic and craniosacral massages. Now, the biggest decision I make on appointment days is which massage to choose. Danielle is highly skilled in all three modalities. I ALWAYS feel better physically and mentally when I’m done. In addition to her skill set, strong hands, knowing where my body needs work, she is warm, friendly, engaging and fun to be with. Her studio is intimate, quiet and very clean. Everyone I’ve recommended her to loves going.
